January 2, 1815, New Orleans
Rodriguez Plantation – After a hard march of nearly seven
hundred miles, the Kentucky Militia arrives to support Gen. Jackson. Excellent
marksmen, they are in desperate shape, completely exhausted, starving,
weaponless and barely clothed. They will be put behind the line as a reserve
force.
de la Ronde Plantation – A dispirited Gen. Pakenham devises
a new plan, an all-out attack along both sides of the river. He will await the
arrival of his remaining troops coming with Gen. Lambert as well as more guns
from the fleet. Bigger cannons. And he will need to extend Bayou Villeré to the
river.
