Lake Borgne – The Americans have company. Thirty British boats
come from the fleet, each paddled by British seamen and making good time in the
light wind. Lt. Thomas ap Catesby Jones tries to take his mosquito fleet away
but one is quickly captured and others run aground. With so little wind, the
American boats can barely move. Jones prays for sunset in hopes to elude the
oncoming British.
Negril Bay, Jamaica – HMS STATIRA has finally arrived and
the Commander-in-chief of the New Orleans expedition, General Sir Edward
Pakenham, meets his staff, including the newly arrived Gen. Lambert. Pakenham
will sail this evening, straight for New Orleans, while Gen. Lambert and his
troops replenish provisions to hurry after.
