US navy cannon from the battlefield
November 6, 1814

Atlantic Ocean – As Gen. Pakenham continues working on his plan of attack with his staff, he confirms to them they are to establish a joint British-Spanish civil government. Along with his orders are documents proclaiming the Crown Colony of Louisiana and appointing him Royal Governor of Louisiana. He and his staff carefully weigh several plans of attack, in the unlikely event they are prevented from landing at Pensacola.

Perdido Bay in Spanish Florida – Gen. Jackson’s dragoons and the two journalists depart the brigantine Aleta and are led to the general’s camp west of Pensacola where a US army has gathered under Jackson to attack that Spanish town.
