American battle line today
November 3, 1814
New Orleans – Two dragoons, emissaries of Major General
Andrew Jackson, commanding the commanding the US 7th Military
District and tasked with defending New Orleans, leave the city with two
journalists, Gérard and Matthew. At Fort Petite Coquilles near The Rigolets
pass, the men board the brigantine Aleta
and sail into the Gulf of Mexico, heading east. Harold, a British spy follows
the men to the fort and hurries back to the city to send a report to the Royal
Navy. The Americans have few, if any troops, in New Orleans.
